LIVE AND REFLECT

You might think about the things on this page as "interactive learning stations." Each strip is a different "station" that you should stop and visit. You will be asked to complete different tasks. Take your time, you might not be able to do everything in just one sitting.

PRAY

Choose one of these two meditation prayer options. Set aside some time where you will not be disturbed. You might need to go to a different location to "get away." You should listen to the audio and enter into one or both of these prayer meditations. After your experience is over. Continue to the next section.

ACTIVITIES

Choose one of these options:

1

Is there a particular tree that you love, maybe outside of your home or at school, or in a nearby park? If there isn't, go for a walk and see if you can discover one that might have something to teach you about the gifts of the earth, being grounded, and the beauty of God's creation. Observe it for a while. Spend some quiet time underneath it if you are able. Take a pic of that tree and post it in the CTK Faith Sharing Group explaining what you learned. Comment on something someone else has posted as well.

2

Walk barefoot through the grass or go hiking in the woods. Post a selfie of you doing this activity. Post your selfie in the CTK Faith Sharing Group and comment how doing that helped you to learn to be more "grounded." Comment on something someone else has posted as well.

3

Cook one of the root vegetable dishes as part of a meal. Enlist the help of parents and/or siblings. Take several pics of you preparing, mixing, and eating your creation. Post them to the CTK Faith Sharing Group commenting on your experience and how it helped you to "ground" yourself. Comment on something someone else has posted as well.

4

Bring your Bible out to a beautiful spot under a tree or by a lake and read the first creation story in Genesis slowly. Each time God says it is good, pause and breathe in that sense of goodness of creation. Follow this reading with Psalm 104. Read it aloud as a response to the creation story and notice what stirs in you as you read the text in this outdoor setting. Take a pic of you reading your Bible and another pic of the outdoor setting you chose. Post them to the CTK Faith Sharing Group commenting on what stirred within you as you read outside. Mention how the experience "grounded" you. Comment on something someone else has posted as well.
