WATCH
The Centrality of Baptism
7 mins.
Jesus taught that Baptism was necessary for salvation. "No one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit" (Jn. 3:5). After his Resurrection, Jesus met with the eleven Apostles and gave them the commission to preach the Gospel and baptize, telling them, "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved" (Mk. 16:16).

Holy Water
4 mins.
When a "voice from above" asks a teen why he blesses himself with holy water as he enters the chapel at his parish, he responds, "Isn't that what you are supposed to do when you enter a church?" The "voice" then takes him on a journey into his past and future to see exactly what this water means.
.

"Just as a man cannot live in the flesh unless he is born in the flesh, even so a man cannot have the spiritual life of grace unless he is born again spiritually. This regeneration is effected by Baptism: 'Unless a man is born again of water and the Holy Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God'" (Jn 3:5).
~St. Thomas Aquinas

Symbols used in Baptism
Catholic Speaker, Fr Rob Galea, shares the reason why the Catholic Church uses symbols in the sacraments of the Catholic Church to make visible the inexpressible love of God. There are five symbols of Baptism that Fr Rob talks about in this video, including the Cross, water, oil, white garment, and light.

Why was Jesus baptized if he was sinless and true God? It's one of the most perplexing moments in the Gospels. Watch this video as Father Michael Nixon discusses the Baptism of Christ.

You are invited to pray this prayer and renew your own baptismal promises.
