Anointing of the Sick

"The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is for those who are seriously ill or in danger of death or suffering the difficulties of old age. The Sacrament may be received each time the believer falls seriously ill or an illness worsens."

Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 1529

In this video, which is an excerpt from Dr. Brant Pitre's series, The Mass Readings Explained, Dr. Pitre gives a brief exposition of the Biblical basis for the Catholic Church's teaching on the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

Fr Rob uses this vlog to explain the change in the name from sacraments of Last Rites to Anointing of the Sick. Fr Rob explains the reason behind the name change and who is able to administer and who may receive this sacrament.
